The Haunted De Soto Hotel

The Haunted De Soto Hotel

Located in El Paso, TX

The Haunted De Soto Hotel in El Paso, Texas was built in 1905. It is currently home to 47 residents, with two rooms that are reserved for guests. Being that the hotel has been around for over 100 years, it has achieved a reputation for being haunted. Guests, tenants, and staff talk most about three specific ghosts.

The first is known as the Shadow in the Doorway. During an investigation, EVP picked up a voice saying, “Who cares?” followed by a shadow moving across the hallway. The second ghost’s name is Sarah. Sarah is one of the more welcoming spirits in the hotel. She is known as prankish and can be heard giggling and laughing. The third ghost in the hotel stays in the basement. It is said that the basement was used for satanic rituals in the early days of the hotel. Those who walk through the basement while at the hotel have reported feelings of being watched. An EVP that has captured this spirit has come across as malevolent. Is it a demon or a spirit? No one knows. If you must run into a ghost while at the hotel, let's hope it is Sarah!

About the Author
I have been interested in ghosts and other paranormal entities for as long as I can remember. I have not ever personally been able to investigate but that is my goal one day. I live in a small town in Texas with my husband and children. For now, I will stick to my classroom but one day I will be out there investigating!
