Home Sweet Home was never just another location on our schedule. Patrick and I had been invited into a family's private space after a difficult loss, and I knew going in that we needed to be careful about how we discussed anything unusual that might happen.
In this After the Investigation conversation, we revisited the experiences described during the episode, talked about the things we couldn't explain and responded to questions people had after watching. I wanted viewers to understand the investigation without treating anyone's grief as entertainment.
What Stood Out After We Reviewed the Night
During the investigation, apparent spirit-box exchanges, unusual sounds and other moments caught our attention while we were in the home. When we talked afterward, the important question wasn't simply which response sounded most dramatic. It was whether we could account for the circumstances around it.
We talked about voice-like sounds that some of us heard as different ages or genders, and about how an SLS camera can produce false positives. We needed to consider what could be heard in the room, how a device might interpret an ordinary sound and whether we were attaching meaning to a phrase because of what we already knew about the family's situation.
The Difference Between a Personal Connection and Proof
When somebody close to you has died, a familiar-sounding word or a coincidence can carry enormous emotional weight. I understand why that matters to the people involved. At the same time, I don't want to claim an identity for an apparent voice without evidence we don't have.
Nothing we discussed in the follow-up can prove that Zach was speaking to us. We can describe what we recorded, why it felt significant at the time and where uncertainty remains.
Why We Talked About It Afterward
The original Home Sweet Home investigation shows how the evening unfolded. The ATI is our chance to return to the unanswered questions and explain why we interpreted certain moments the way we did.
It's also an opportunity to admit that some details still need a more complete review. That's preferable to turning the experience into an answer we can't support.
What does ATI mean on Ghost Texas?
ATI stands for After the Investigation. These conversations are our way of comparing memories, discussing recorded material and answering questions left by an episode.
Did the Home Sweet Home investigation prove someone was present?
No. We documented experiences and apparent responses that interested us, but we could not establish a paranormal cause or identify a particular person as the source.
What Questions Would You Ask Us?
If something in the episode stood out to you, we'd rather discuss the details of that moment than make a sweeping claim about what it means. The people who welcomed us into their home deserve that care.
