About Ghost Texas
Ghost Texas Paranormal Investigation Team, formerly known as G.H.O.S.T. (Greater Houston Organization for Supernatural Tracking), was initially founded by Patrick Theriot. In 2018, Patrick teamed up with Melvin Maya to rebrand and enhance the group's mission, officially forming Ghost Texas: Investigating the Paranormal. Since then, the team has conducted thorough investigations of cemeteries, residences, nightlife venues, hotels, and former jails, utilizing a wide range of equipment including spirit boxes, infrared cameras, and more. The Ghost Texas Paranormal Investigation Team takes its work seriously, aiming to document compelling evidence of the supernatural.
In 2020, Morgan Brannon joined as the lead researcher, delving deep into the history of each site investigated by the team. A few years later, Marcos Maya became a key addition, helping with filming and overall operations during investigations. Occasionally, when investigating larger properties, the team brings in guests to assist with maintaining and monitoring equipment.
Through their dedication, Ghost Texas continues to expand, taking on new challenges and advancing their investigative techniques. Despite paranormal investigation often being viewed as a hobby, the team prides itself on maintaining professionalism and delivering high-quality, credible results in the field of supernatural exploration.

PATRICK THERIOT
FOUNDER & LEAD INVESTIGATOR
For over three decades, my fascination with the paranormal has driven my quest to understand the unexplained. I've dedicated the past 15 years of my life to the in-depth investigation of ghostly phenomena. During this journey, I established a team of seasoned experts in the field - individuals I've had the privilege of knowing for a quarter of a century. Our primary mission is to explore and meticulously record compelling evidence, which we eagerly share with you.
MELVIN MAYA
CO-FOUNDER & LEAD INVESTIGATOR
Before co-founding Ghost Texas and diving into paranormal investigations, I built a career in photography. My experience behind the lens and the growth of my personal YouTube channel provided me with valuable skills in filming, editing, and web development, which I've since applied to help expand Ghost Texas' online presence.
Already equipped with professional photography and film gear, my collection has significantly grown to support our paranormal investigations. We now have everything necessary to ensure top-tier investigations, capturing compelling footage every step of the way.
I take a balanced approach to investigating, combining a technical mindset with intuitive insights. My primary goal is to debunk everything we encounter so that the evidence we present is undeniably solid. I'm always experimenting with new equipment and ideas to enhance our methods and push the boundaries of what we can uncover.
My passion for Ghost Texas is to make it a recognizable name in the paranormal community, delivering gripping evidence and unforgettable experiences in every episode.
MORGAN BRANNON
RESEARCHER & INVESTIGATOR
The paranormal has always been intriguing to me; the history, the cause and effect of life and death events, and the continuation of energy. I serve as the bridge between history, the living, the dead, and the unknown, by digging into the past and bringing to light the stories and history of events that have lead entities to where they are now. I do this by investing in the past and present.
MARCOS MAYA
INVESTIGATOR
My passion for uncovering mysteries and seeking answers has always driven me, and my background in research and documentation helps me dive deep into every investigation. As an investigator with Ghost Texas, I’m thrilled to explore the unknown and venture all over Texas in search of unexplained phenomena.
Community involvement is essential in our work, and I love hearing from people about their experiences with the paranormal. Your stories and suggestions are a huge part of what makes our investigations meaningful.
Outside of my investigative work, I enjoy exploring the outdoors, traveling, and spending quality time with my family. With over two decades of experience in real estate and mortgage loans, I’ve built a rewarding career, but my greatest joy comes from family life. As a father of three boys, one of whom has special needs, my wife and I cherish our time together—whether it’s cooking, camping, or enjoying theme parks. Gaming sessions with the kids are always a hit!
I’m also committed to mentoring young people as an assistant Scout Master and Cub Master. Being a positive role model for the next generation brings me immense pride.
Feel free to reach out to me—whether it’s about real estate, mortgages, or anything else!
TURNER MAYA
JUNIOR INVESTIGATOR
I’m currently a junior in high school, but my fascination with the paranormal began much earlier, back in my early middle school years. I've always been a firm believer in the supernatural, drawn to the mysteries and unexplained phenomena that seem to exist just beyond our understanding. I’ve spent countless hours watching paranormal investigation shows.
When my uncle, Melvin, who shares my passion for the paranormal, asked if I wanted to join the Ghost Texas investigation team, I knew this was my chance. I didn’t hesitate for a second! It’s been an incredible experience so far, allowing me to learn firsthand what it takes to conduct a professional investigation. From using high-tech equipment to exploring the most haunted locations, I’ve gained knowledge and skills that I never imagined I’d have at my age.
Being part of Ghost Texas has not only deepened my belief in the paranormal, but it has also taught me the importance of approaching investigations with a balance of skepticism and belief. I love working alongside my uncle and the team to uncover real evidence, while constantly learning new methods to validate the experiences we capture. This is just the beginning for me, and I’m excited to continue growing as an investigator and helping Ghost Texas uncover more mysteries.
